Vichy Liftactiv Vitamin C Brightening Skin Corrector

A 10 day booster treatment of a few drops a day for an improve skin texture and a brighter skin tone? Colour me excited! The press release for this tickled my fancy in a flash, and I could not wait to photograph and test this beaut’ as soon as it dropped into the LLS postbox. First things first, what is it that I rambling about? The Vichy Liftactiv Vitamin C Booster (or the Liftactiv Vitamin C Brightening Skin Corrector, as you will), is a 15% Pure Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Fragmented Hyaluronic Acid and Vichy Mineralizing Thermal Water formula. The 15% Vitamine C and Hyaluronic Acid will have already given it away, the goal of this little bottle is a skin that looks radiant and well rested, with a refined texture and less fine lines. Let’s just call it a time machine for your skin. A big claim for a small bottle! It was the perfect time for this Vichy Liftactiv Vitamin C Booster  to pop up in my life, stress at work + working mum’s …

Leen Travels – An Even Lighter Body Care Menu

Yesterday you could read all about me being proud of myself for packing only the skincare essentials (major over-packer here!), but the rest of the toiletries proved to be even more difficult. Not wanting to lugg around a different set of toiletries for everyone, I chose multifunctional over fancy personal preferences, and went for the troupers that work for Mr B, the little ones and me. The Avène XeraCalm Lipid-Replenishing Cleansing Oil  is the one all rounder that works for everyone in the LeenLovesStyle household. Soft and gentle enough for me and Little Miss C yet thorough enough to get a kid clean after a day outside. Hair is covered by good old Nivea, with a little touch of Aussie for me, I’m taking the 3 Minute Miracle Reconstruction Mask to fix that dried out pool / sun hair situation.  After showering, a lick of  the La Roche-Posay Lipikar Balm AP+ does wonders for all of us, from Little Miss C’s atopic skin to Mr B’s man’s legs. Also coming on this trip is the …

Vichy Ideal Body Balm

“Spring might be approaching, but when you have a look at my legs, you might be fooled into thinking differently. Crocodile skin and patchy limbs call for heavy duty body care, and that’s where this new Vichy discovery comes in handy. I can see you thinking “Another body balm article, Leen?”, but bear with me for a second. Vichy may not get a lot of airplay here on LeenLovesStyle, mainly because it is not one of those brands that excite me, or makes me want to dig in deeper and explore more. Stuck in the “meh” zone once too often, I kind of not even think about the brand when in need of new stuff. However, a friend of mine nagged me to give the Vichy Ideal Body Balm a try, and now I’m hooked. When you look at the ingrediënt list, it’s no surprise either this one gets a double thumbs up, as it is filled to the brim with 2 ingredients borrowed from their skin care siblings, ie Hyaluronic Acid (a big favourite here on …

My morning skincare routine

A while ago I spoke of a skincare routine experiment that hideously went wrong (check it here), and while most of the products in that routine were really good for Autumn, I decided to switch things up a bit and tailor it a bit more to what my skin needs at the moment. Winter is here (it finally started snowing a few days ago!), so soothing, protecting and hydrating are what I’m all about these days. A few tweaks here and there might be a bit of an understatement, most products have been replaced by richer versions, like a snuggly sweater and a cashmere scarf for my skin, all rolled into one. Taking over from the Radical Hydrating Cleanser is the 001 Skincare Exfoliating and Conditioning Cleanser*, which, though less hyrating, is a lot more soothing and balancing, with an added exfoliation to boost (so one less product to use and a minute longer in bed!). A triple performer: it completely eliminates all that morning puffiness, it relaxes and calms my skin and somehow manages to give …
