June Favourites

6 months have come and gone, 2017 is halfway, and it’s time for something new on this blog! I’ve been blogging for over 4 years, and in all those years, I’ve never done of the great classics of beauty blogging, the ‘Favourites’ post. Never one to let something go by untried, I realised this was the perfect moment to line up my favourites as I discovered some exciting products! The DHC Deep Cleansing Oil, I must admit, has been a favourite of mine for a long time (check this article!), and after a litle time apart, I fell in love with this golden beauty all over again. Nothing takes away my make up like this one, and not a dry skin-moment in sight. I’m on my 4th bottle, and nr 5 is already waiting it’s turn. All the next bits really are brand spankin’ new ones, pinky swear! It wouldn’t be the LeenLovesStyle favourites if it weren’t filled to the brim with skincare, and my skin has been particularly loving the Uriage Eau Thermale Water …

Winter essentials – Body Care

Even tough temperatures aren’t as winter-y as they should be, I’m still indulging in a winter routine as if the outside temperatures are below arctic levels. It may not be freezing, but somehow my skin seems to think it does, and has turned into large sheets of sandpaper *winter skin alert*. Time to bust out the anti-winter guns! Nothing beats the winter blues like a good shower (not too long, not too hot unfortunately…), and when you say shower, you say Nivea! Like a big, fluffy, comforting hug made of soap, the Nivea Care & Cocoa is sheer indulgence for my skin (without the fancy price tag). A pure shot of shea butter, with a soft, subtile scent to match. Under the motto: “If it’s good enough for my children, it’s definitely good for me!” the Uriage Cleansing Protection Oil is a relatively new addition to the shower shelf, but one with an impact. One of the few products that works for both mine and Little Miss C’s diva skin, this one got bumped to …

Red face fixers

I admit, sometimes I don’t even practice what I preach (bad beauty blogger here!) and stay too long in the sunshine without topping up my SPF. This usually involves a sunny afternoon, friends and a few glasses of sangria… Result, a face with a terrible sunburn, cheeks as red as a first-class lobster and so painful I cannot even think about opening and closing my mouth. Unfortunately the Spanish sun did a number on my face during our holiday this month, and these two were the only ones that kept my skin from itching, hurting and burning. Shortly put, happy face, happy me! Better safe than sorry, but in case you’re suffering from a nasty sunburn, here’s what I tried. After a gentle cleansing with the La Roche Posay Rosaliac Micellar Make Up Removal Gel, I apply a really thick layer of the Avène Soothing Moisture Mask. This little tube has been my best friend ver since I bought my first one about three years. A whole lot of calming and hydrating goodness, and my …

An SPF trio for your face – Enjoy the sun and keep those wrinkles away!

Today is going to a scorcher over here in Western Europe, so time to get some brunch, lunch, aperitif or dinner al fresco, or just kick back and relax. Whether I’ll spend 15 minutes or 15 hours outside, protection and hydration are my no 1 focus today! It’s funny how things go, I can clearly remember huffing and puffing as a child when my mum chased after me with bottles of Nivea SPF 25, and now I’m even worse. Having been officially titled the “SPF-Dictator by Mr B, I’ll be hassling everyone around me all day long, shoving one of three tubes that I carry with me right under their noses (yes, I’m mental like that!). Why stick to one when you’ve got three excellent SPF’s to choose from? A girl’s gotta have options! These las few weeks, sun or no sun, the Sisley Youth Protector Face SPF 50* has been the last step every morning before heading out the door. A true skin warrior thanks to it’s UVA and UVB filters, Edelweiss extract and …
