Kenzoki Barefeet Fantasy Massage Balm

As much as I owe my feet all the credits they should get (they do take me everywhere my head wants to go), I definitely do not give them the love they deserve. My feet have this tendency to react strongly to really hot or cold weather, standing up for a long period of time or dancing the night away, so most days, I end up with sensitive, painful and swollen feet that cry out for a good massage. I must have tried every foot cream and massage technique on the block these last few blogging years, and where some have brought the much wanted relief, others failed miserably! Cue the Kenzoki Barefeet Fantasy Massage Balm! Kenzo has been tickling my interest of late, somehow their skincare never really caught my eye. Quite a shame, cause look at how beautiful that packaging is!! Take the lid off, and you’ll find a thick, luscious cream with the consistency of butter cream frosting. As if that wasn’t enough to make me start massaging my feet immediately, the soft scent of …

Environ Intensive Super Moisturiser+

Another moisturiser Leen? I can hear you thinking it out loud, and rolling your eyes at the same time, but hear me out! Environ is a brand that hasn’t been featured much here on LeenLovesStyle, or reaches the same amount of buzz as, say, a Chanel limited edition make up collection, but it sure has a cult following. Founded by Dr Des Fernandes in 1990, after having seen first-hand the devastations of skin cancer. As a plastic surgeon, he had witnessed sun-damaged skin in all of it’s glory, and realized the necessity of protecting your skin. As good as a good old dose of topping up your tan might sound to some of us, that big ball of yellow heat is one of the biggest factors in premature skin ageing, so hurray for a paler look! Combining his skin care knowledge with a higher concentration of Vitamin A proved to be his winning ticket in preventing sun damage! Latest addition to the Environ family is the Environ Intensive Super Moisturiser+*. The name says it all, …

Philosophy No Reason to Hide

Saturday morning, no alarm clock needed ’cause Kid nr 1 and Kid nr 2 take turns in waking everyone up before the crack of dawn! After that much needed cup of coffee, we wash, feed and dress the little ones, and before we’re off for a busy day filled with tennis trainings, errands and family visits, I sneak in 5 minutes in the bathroom. These are not the days for an extensive beauty routine, with my husband yelling outside the bathroom that I don’t need to put on make up, but, unlike Mr B, I know you dollies know exactly what I mean with “just wanting to erase that Saturday morning tiredness from my face” With 5 minutes to go before racing off, I’ve been reaching for the Philosophy No Reason To Hide Instant Skin-Tone Perfecting Moisturizer more than any other alphabet cream in my stash, and though Philiosophy products have a tendency of clashing with my skin, this is the first one that actually works for me. A tinted cream that promises to perfect the skin’s …

Eucerin Sun Dry Touch

Day 2 of a much needed long weekend, and while the sun may not have been a super trooper today, I still spent most of my day outside. And while those long, lazy, sunkissed summer days are still to come, I still make sure that I do not step outside without a touch of sun protection. You know the saying: “Just because you don’t see the sun, doesn’t mean she’s not there to cause havoc on your skin!” When it comes protecting my skin from UV-A(Aging)- and UV-B(Burning) radiation, I have an entire army of protectors, but two of my latest discoveries from Eucerin Sun have been leading the charge against short- and long term damages. Both the Transparant Mist Dry Touch For Body SPF 50* and the Oil Control Gel-Crème Dry Touch For Face SPF 50 *have secured a prime spot in my suncare stash. The Oil Control Gel-Crème Dry Touch For Face SPF 50  may at first sight  not  be a perfect match for a dry skinned lady as me, but when the sun starts …

Filorga Detox Body Treatment – Getting that skin summer ready

Bikini season is peepin’ round the corner, and getting that body of mine bikini ready is becoming more and more urgent. Losing 15 kg or 15 cm before July is going to be a mission impossible, but a detox for mind and body to eliminate all those pesky toxins is a first step in the right direction. Filorga, the French medi-cosmetic power house, has developed their first body product, and it directly taps into the detox trend. We women all have our problem areas, our bellies, upper legs and breasts aren’t always what we’d like them to be. A little too saggy or swollen, a stretch mark here or a some cellulite there (Or all of those… guilty as charged), we all have our hang ups we want to banish. The Filorga Detox Body Treatment* is a nourishing body product that wants to tackle our 3 main problems: swollen legs or belly, sagging bits and bobs and dry, patchy and itchy skin, so it goes without saying that I am extremely curious! Shea butter immediately soothes and softens …

5 Things – The Wishlist edition

Seems like an eternity since I last feautured a 5 thing post here on LeenLovesStyle, but no fear, we are easing back into the swing of these (whilst trying not to overload you dears with too many product reviews…). First up, a few of the items that have jumped onto my wishlist (it is Wednesday after all!). Edited down to the five picks that have caught my eye, here we go! * Reiss has done it again! Browsing their webshop for a few ideas for my little sis’  wedding later this year quickly turned into a full on love fest! Currently racing through my mind are the Alexia shorts and this Hermione top, and how breathtaking are those cut-out sandals? Or pair them with that makes-me-want-to-play graphic playsuit? * The Christopher Kane for NARS Collection: Whenever NARS presents something new, I am all eyes and ears (NARS Fanclub? Where do I sign up?), and the very moment I spotted this new collaboration on Harpers Bazaar, I was sold! Based on the spectrum of reds and pinks used by Christopher Kane in …

Darphin Aromatic Cleansing Balm With Rosewood

It’s no secret that the French have long mastered the skincare game, and that French pharmacy brands are on a whole different level! Darphin, first among equals of these French pharmacy high-end treasures, has a solid base that they have been building ever since that first potion created by Pierre Darphin 60 years ago in his beauty salon on the legendary Place Vendôme. Driven by a desire to combine their knowledge of pure, effective botanical plants, aromatic care and essential oils, they have created that perfectly tuned, cohesive series of products that just beguilingly invite you to have that spa experience in the comfort of your own bathroom. Not only offering luxurious textures that far surpass the normal French pharmacy offering, Pierre Darphin himself created several skin-sculpting and massaging techniques that not only boost the performance of the Darphin products, but also keep your skin glowing and healthy. Off course nothing beats a pampering session in the luxurious surroundings of the Darphin Spa, but on those days that Paris just isn’t an option, I like …

Vichy Ideal Body Balm

“Spring might be approaching, but when you have a look at my legs, you might be fooled into thinking differently. Crocodile skin and patchy limbs call for heavy duty body care, and that’s where this new Vichy discovery comes in handy. I can see you thinking “Another body balm article, Leen?”, but bear with me for a second. Vichy may not get a lot of airplay here on LeenLovesStyle, mainly because it is not one of those brands that excite me, or makes me want to dig in deeper and explore more. Stuck in the “meh” zone once too often, I kind of not even think about the brand when in need of new stuff. However, a friend of mine nagged me to give the Vichy Ideal Body Balm a try, and now I’m hooked. When you look at the ingrediënt list, it’s no surprise either this one gets a double thumbs up, as it is filled to the brim with 2 ingredients borrowed from their skin care siblings, ie Hyaluronic Acid (a big favourite here on …

Testing testing – Filorga Perfect + Perfect Skin Serum

It’s been a rough few skin (food coma, late nights, overdose of fizzie and all that), and it is definitely showing on my skin. Bloated cheecks, dry, red patches, dull skin and a spotty chin, I look like a true fairy princess… To add insult to injury, I just ran out of my beloved 001 Skincare Active Marine Concentrate, so  I have to dive back into testing, face first. Out came the Filorga Perfect+ Perfect Skin Serum, the newest offering from the French dermo-cosmetics specialist targeting multiple skincare problems modern day such as ourselves may suffer from, such as fine lines and wrinkes, dull, blotchy skin, widened pores and a general rougher skin texture. Sounds like a dream? That’s what I’m her for to find for you. This Monday, I started testing this serum and I’ll keep you updated as I keep testing it over the next few weeks. I’ll report back to you in a few weeks, and we’ll see if it is a mid-winter wonder or a dodgy do-not-go-there. Post-Christmas skin troubles, be gone! …

My skincare routine – a work in progress

Or: how beauty bloggers can also get it wrong. I took this picture a few weeks ago, fully intending to use it as an Instagram-update on my (at that time) current skincare routine, but alas as fate should have it, the next day, the odd one out in this line up created such a huge allergic reaction on my cheeks and chin that I tossed both the product and the post. Cue a few weeks later, when I decided to use that grainy picture after all (perfect metaphor for the result on my skin :-)) as a way of proving that us beauty bloggers aren’t the know-it-alls we like to be, and that trial and error are more common than we’d like to admit. 4 out of the 5 products in this routine fall in good / really good / stellar categories, The Radical Hydrating Cleanser is one of 4 cleansers I use regularly at the moment, and it is a good, basic, hydrating cleanser. I first purchased it after seeing Amelia rave about it …
