Caudalie – Reigniting our love

About a year ago, smack bam in the middle of a raging love affair with Caudalie, I started testing the Caudalie Polyphenol C15 range*. Life at home with newborn and a toddler and more sleepless nights than should be allowed left me looking like my mum (sorry mum!), and let’s be honest, I’m not 21 anymore, so whatever anti-ageing and general boosting miracle you would have thrown at me, I would have caught with open arms! “Primary function of the line is to act as a super antioxidant, ie being a fierce protector against free radicals and a mighty oxidant booster, imperative to keep wrinkles at bay or under control.  Key ingrediënts for this powerplay are the grapeseed polyphenols, ie powerful molecules Caudalie extracts from their own grapes, and has been proven to be 10.000 times more effective than regular Vitamine E. Additionally, these polyphenols have been coupled with stabilised Vitamin C, so that the youth-preserving and protecting capacities of both ingredients are even intensified.” As you could read in my first write up (head on over for …

Acqua Di Parma Italian Resort Revitalising Face Serum

Acqua Di Parma is building up momentum, and don’t we know it! The Italian maestro, long known for delivering luxurious scents that take you right back to every sensory aspect of Italy (Italian rose gardens? Check! Christmas in Tuscany? Light this candle!) are having their moment in the sun, and are infusing my bathroom with a touch of luxury and a splash of Italian va-va-voom. The brand’s love for Italy, the Mediterranean, it’s people and it’s natural riches is apparent in all they do, and truely is the core of what they are all about. Hot off the press is their renewed Italian Resort body and skincare collection, inspired by the luscious Mediterranean vegetation. Silky smooth textures, enclosed in extra-pure glass bottles, where the deep blue shades and bright transparencies recall the colours and reflections of the sea. Sounds too good to be true? Let’s put it to the test, shall we? Avanti! The latest newcomer in my morning routine is the Acqua Di Parma Italian Resort Revitalising Face Serum*, promising to be a flash of energy and radiance, …

Testing testing – Filorga Perfect + Perfect Skin Serum

It’s been a rough few skin (food coma, late nights, overdose of fizzie and all that), and it is definitely showing on my skin. Bloated cheecks, dry, red patches, dull skin and a spotty chin, I look like a true fairy princess… To add insult to injury, I just ran out of my beloved 001 Skincare Active Marine Concentrate, so  I have to dive back into testing, face first. Out came the Filorga Perfect+ Perfect Skin Serum, the newest offering from the French dermo-cosmetics specialist targeting multiple skincare problems modern day such as ourselves may suffer from, such as fine lines and wrinkes, dull, blotchy skin, widened pores and a general rougher skin texture. Sounds like a dream? That’s what I’m her for to find for you. This Monday, I started testing this serum and I’ll keep you updated as I keep testing it over the next few weeks. I’ll report back to you in a few weeks, and we’ll see if it is a mid-winter wonder or a dodgy do-not-go-there. Post-Christmas skin troubles, be gone! …

My morning skincare routine

A while ago I spoke of a skincare routine experiment that hideously went wrong (check it here), and while most of the products in that routine were really good for Autumn, I decided to switch things up a bit and tailor it a bit more to what my skin needs at the moment. Winter is here (it finally started snowing a few days ago!), so soothing, protecting and hydrating are what I’m all about these days. A few tweaks here and there might be a bit of an understatement, most products have been replaced by richer versions, like a snuggly sweater and a cashmere scarf for my skin, all rolled into one. Taking over from the Radical Hydrating Cleanser is the 001 Skincare Exfoliating and Conditioning Cleanser*, which, though less hyrating, is a lot more soothing and balancing, with an added exfoliation to boost (so one less product to use and a minute longer in bed!). A triple performer: it completely eliminates all that morning puffiness, it relaxes and calms my skin and somehow manages to give …

Indeed Labs Hydraluron Moisture Booster – Worth the hype?

Last time I was in London, I caved in and finally swung round Boots to pick up a tube of the much-hyped Indeed Labs Hydraluron Moisture Booster. But is it really worth the hype? Is it really as good as many beauty bloggers have exclaimed? Will this be the end to my dry-skin woes? First things first, what is it? Manufactured by Indeed Labs, a company whose objective is to ‘eliminate all marketing hype and costs and deliver real results cost effectively’, this is the first ever hyaluronic acid completely free of free of animal derived raw materials and organic solvent remnants, so no nasties whatsoever. Indeed Labs states that this serum is paraben free, fragrance free and propylene glycol free, making it suitable for even the most sensitive skintypes. Hydraluron contains a pure form of hyaluronic acid, a molecule capable of holding up to a 1.000 times it’s weight in water, meaning that it is extremely moisturizing. Hyaluronic acid is known to have a magnetic effect, so that every product that you use on top of it adheres longer to your skin, …

Touch Up By Terry
