Packing Strategies

Packing for four is not quite the same as packing for 2, the equasion of double the people, double the amount of stuff simply does not work. After two years and several holidays with our little family of four, I’ve developed a few packing strategies along the way that have made the whole proces easier and less stressfull. Strategy #1: Multifunctional products One soap that works for all 4 of us, an after sun that is rich enough to double as a body cream, one eyepalette that can create a myriad of looks and bronzer that can work as a powder, a bronzer or a blush… you get the gist, it’s all about products that have more than one function. Less products = more space Strategy #2: Mini’s for Mum’s skincare Mini’s can have a maxi impact on the size of my make up bag, especially when it comes to the skincare I want to take along for just myself. A lot of websites let you choose a few samples when you place an order …

Insta Update

It’s been a bit of a whirlwind of late (and that’s an understatement…), and whoever said that it is easy for women to have it all, surely never has walked a day in a working mum’s high heeled pumps. I’ll stop the whining here, and just swiftly move on to the matter of today, a sneaky look into what I’ve been up to on Instagram these past few weeks. A little post, a lot of pictures, and there you are, back up to date! I drank, ate and double dated with some of our best friends, tried and tested a few beauty trinkets, and spent a bucket load of quality time with Mr B and our littles ones… Can you says bliss? 5 Things

It’s been a while since I last did one of these 5 Things articles, giving you a peek inside my head and try to decipher the constant internal rambling that goes on in there. Beauty, fashion, interior design, work planning, kids wardrobes, that’s only a fraction of what rushed through my mind any given day these last few weeks, so how about we dive straight in? Everyone that knows me personally, knows that I work for a green and renewable energy company, so when fashions meets sustainabilty, I am all ears! Marks and Spencer brought their Clothes Exchange to Belgium this week, and I was bopping around like a kid on Christmas Eve, giddy with excitement. For each donation of used clothes and 30 euo purchase, you get a 5 euro voucher. Out with the old, in with the new, extra budget for a next shopping trip and putting in your 2 cents for Mother Nature, what’s not to like?! Looking online for decoration inspiration for my future kitchen remains one of my favourite pastimes, …

Life

Life, as busy as it is, is keeping me from taking as much time for this blog as it needs, so please do not hesitate to stalk me on Instagram or Facebook, for more snaps, insights and witty puns on life, love, beauty and all other things running through my mind. I’ll be back soon, I promise!

Amsterdam (and a shameless bit of self plugging)

LeenLovesStyle is not in the office today! I’m in Amsterdam for a day of press presentations, long awaited catching up with sweet friends, some delicious food and a quick spot of shopping (when in Rome… ) If you want to know what I’m up to, get sneak peeks of the newest collections and just see what I’m up to all day, keep an eye on my Instagram account or add me on Snapchat (@leenlovesstyle ;)). If you have any recommendations on food, a great coffee place or shopping in Amsterdam, I’d love to read them! Lots of love from Amsterdam!!

Deco Dreaming – A Bathroom Dreams Are Made Of

Sundays are for naps, catching up on todo lists, and a good dose of eye candy. I was browsing through some interior inspiration posts I had bookmarked, and a drop dead gorgeous home in Primrose Hill, London provided some epic and definite eye candy. Besides a perfect London location, a stunning kitchen, private courtyard and a whole lotta loveables, it was especially the killer bathroom that had me salivating! Straight into my inspiration folder it went for my big bathroom -redo project when we move houses in the future! Clean, streamlined, white and grey, that much I knew I loved, but those brass fixtures, oh those brass fixtures… It’s Sunday, I’m in love!   Pictures via JJ Locations

5 Things – Weekend reads

Nothing more relaxing during the weekend than catching up on your favourite reads. My cosy little corner of the sofa, the softest blanket ever (Scapa Home, if you’re interested), a steaming hot cuppa and my iPad, how perfect can it get? During the week, I tend to diagonally read whatever takes my fancy (oh I’m superficial like that), and I’ll bookmark the interesting ones for a more thorough (*notepad at the ready to write down ideas*) read later on. What have I got bookmarked to get me inspired this weekend? Here we go! All too familiar with the struggles of being a career mom and the work-life balance, Zanita’s post makes me feel like I am not alone in this rat race.  Add in Camilla’s tips on how to organise my current chaos of a life, and I might whip my organizing skills into shape! Vivianna has got me wanting to try the capsule wardrobe experiment myself, and maybe add in a killer pair of flats! Oh, and how delicious does that Korean BBQ Steak …

Happy New Year!

2015 has come and gone, 2016 has begun, and so has all the fun! (See what I did there!). Even though the 1st of January is already behind us, I still wanted to take a little moment  before getting back into the swing of things. Before anything else, I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all the love and support this past year! Every single read, like and comment (both on- and offline!) meant more to me than you’ll ever realize, and I am extremely grateful for each and every one of them.  2015 was a bit of a rocky year, both personally and on the blog, but a new year offers a chance to start afresh. Time to write that new chapter! For that new chapter, I would love your input! What do you want to see more or less of on LeenLovesStyle? Less beauty? Or even more beauty? Increase the fashion dose? Or maybe inject a bit more lifestyle? Maybe a bit more structure? Let me know …

Merry Christmas

Today is Santa’s Day, so there is no blogging happening over here! However, I still wanted to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas, whoever and wherever you are! The holidays are always a reflective, nostalgic time, and while I could spend hours dwelling on 2015, I look towards 2016 with a sense of purpose, determination and utter gratefulness for all that I have in my life, including you sweet readers! A Merry Christmas fom my family to yours, we hope you get to spend it with your loved ones! May you have a splendid Christmas filled with lights, love and laughter! I’ll see you after the food coma!

Yay – or maybe not…

Yay – not exactly an expression of celebration I’m feeling at the moment, but more a state of mind I’d like to achieve. As you probably have noticed already, my frequency of posting has dropped even more these last few weeks, and for that I am terribly sorry. Life seems to be getting in the way of this blog big time, and to add insult to injury, my laptop crashed and just about all my still-to-use pictures for this blog completely vanished without a trace. Of course, when it rains, it pours, so not even my back up is functioning properly. All this put a damper on my blogging mojo… I’m slowly getting back up to speed, re-photographing some of the products that I really want to feature on here, and doing my utmost to get some sort of rhythm and routine going on here on LeenLovesStyle. In the meanwhile, thank you so much for sticking with me, it means more to me than I can ever express! Up to the next Yay article, which …
