Bathroom Essentials – The Luxury Edition

This last Sunday, it was clear. Rain or sunshine, wailing kids or sleeping angels, something or nothing on tv, I just didn’t care. After a heavy week, a few sleepless nights and my sister’s bachelorette party, all I could think about was a bath! A long, hot, pampering session in my white personal haven, my bathtub, not even a stern Karl Lagerfeld could stop me! A super pamper calls for the luxe products to  come off the shelf, and a good sprinkling of the Susanne Kaufmann Deacidifying Alkali Salt is the perfect first step. Not just any regular bath salt, this organic composition calms down stressed limbs, eliminates any and all waste products from you skin and reduces the acidity levels so that it remains blanced and less prone to  rashes and other reactions. It’s the very first poduct I’ve tried from the Susanne Kaufmann Collection, and I must admit I am curious to discover more! Next up, my hair gets the full works with the Balmain Hair Care Repair Mask to get my strands …

Mummy’s little helpers – how to look good, even after hardly any sleep.

Chances are that I look like a wreck at the moment. Beauty blogger or not, a lack of sleep has this way of causing havoc on your skin and appearance, and no one knows this better than mothers! My two little munchkins have been messing up my nightly dose of zzzzzzz’s lately, and my skin and eyes (Bags down to my knees! Red, blotchy, grainy skin!) are showing for it! However, I have a few little tricks up my sleeve that jolt my skin right back into thinking it had a full night’s sleep, after a comforting mug of ginger & lemon tea and a bowl of organic yoghurt with blueberries and some apple spiced walnut muesli, these lifesavers come out to do their job! The Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil is a longtime love of mine, if soulmates came in beauty products, this would be mine! A few drops after my serum and before my moisturizer perk my skin right up, adding the necessary moisture, nourishment and calmth while providing the Vitamin A that boosts …

Pai Rosehip wonders

The holidays are finally over, and despite my best efforts, my skin has somewhat suffered. This year I had to pass on guzzling down all those glasses of bubbles, wine and those lovely pousse-cafés, but still the combination of several decadent dinners, my usual over-indulgence in appetizers and desserts, late nights / early morning wake up calls and some sneaky snacking on those Christmas chocolates gave my skin a run for it’s money. It was a race my skin sadly lost, leaving me with a dry, dull, tired-looking skin that was flaring up as if I was a 5 year old who had just discovered her mom’s pot rouge. Time to break out the big guns. Normally my first weapon of choice would be the Origins Drink Up Intensive Mask, my fail safe option for dry and dull skin (Avocado oil + apricot kernel oil make for 1 very hydrating and soothing mask!). However, last December I purchased the Pai Intensive Nourishing Facial Set, which includes one of my favourite oils, the Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil and the …

Pai Macadamia & Rose Biorejuvenate Cream

When I wrote about my first online beauty shopping venture earlier this autumn, I mentioned that I had finally bitten the bullet and ordered some organic skincare, inluding this Pai moisturizer. Pai is a British natural skin care brand, created by Sarah Brown after years of allergic reactions to lab-created skin care. 100 % certified organic by the UK Soil Association, this brand only uses naturally derived ingredients, and makes a very strong case for never including any of the following in their products: alcohol, parabens, artificial fragrances, beeswax, formaldehyde, any kind of petrochemicals, phenoxyethanol, sodium lauryl sulfate or phthalates. Any of these ingredients can cause irritations, allergic reactions or worse, leaving one with great discomfort, itchiness or rashes. The Pai Macadamia and Rose Rejuvenate Cream is their cream for the very dry, dry-sensitive or mature skin (and though my skin may not yet be very mature, it is extremely dry and sensitive, so I figured this one to be my safest bet).  Promising to intensely hydrate and nourish my skin, whilst soothing it and keeping it plump …
