June Favourites

6 months have come and gone, 2017 is halfway, and it’s time for something new on this blog! I’ve been blogging for over 4 years, and in all those years, I’ve never done of the great classics of beauty blogging, the ‘Favourites’ post. Never one to let something go by untried, I realised this was the perfect moment to line up my favourites as I discovered some exciting products! The DHC Deep Cleansing Oil, I must admit, has been a favourite of mine for a long time (check this article!), and after a litle time apart, I fell in love with this golden beauty all over again. Nothing takes away my make up like this one, and not a dry skin-moment in sight. I’m on my 4th bottle, and nr 5 is already waiting it’s turn. All the next bits really are brand spankin’ new ones, pinky swear! It wouldn’t be the LeenLovesStyle favourites if it weren’t filled to the brim with skincare, and my skin has been particularly loving the Uriage Eau Thermale Water …

Drugstore delights

Drugstores are like a treasure trove for make up and beauty addicts, so much to see, so much to try, so much too buy. I’ve lost count of the amount of times these (often impulse) purchases turned out to be big time busts, but sometimes, every once in a blue moon, some of the products really rock. Bourjois is offering some serious lip power these days, and the Rouge Edition Velvet in Personne Ne Rouge and Peach Club have been gracing my lips most days. Velvet-y matte,  deliciously pigmented and glides on like a gloss but longlasting as only a lipstick can be (thoroughly tested on cocktail night with the ladies!). Framboise, Ole Flamingo and Nude-Ist, I’m coming for you! On those days that a softer slick of shine with not too much colour is wat I’m looking for, the Bourjois Shine Edition Lipstick in Grenade-in is just perfect! A deeper, darker …

My skincare routine – a work in progress

Or: how beauty bloggers can also get it wrong. I took this picture a few weeks ago, fully intending to use it as an Instagram-update on my (at that time) current skincare routine, but alas as fate should have it, the next day, the odd one out in this line up created such a huge allergic reaction on my cheeks and chin that I tossed both the product and the post. Cue a few weeks later, when I decided to use that grainy picture after all (perfect metaphor for the result on my skin :-)) as a way of proving that us beauty bloggers aren’t the know-it-alls we like to be, and that trial and error are more common than we’d like to admit. 4 out of the 5 products in this routine fall in good / really good / stellar categories, The Radical Hydrating Cleanser is one of 4 cleansers I use regularly at the moment, and it is a good, basic, hydrating cleanser. I first purchased it after seeing Amelia rave about it …
