Wishlist Wednesday – Aerin fragrances

I’ve been grinning like a Cheshire cat ever since February 11, and the reason for that is very clear. That day was the very day the lustworthy, covetable and delectable Aerin fragrances finally found their way to the Belgian market. I lusted and hovered over her beauty and fragrance collection last time I was in London, and still regret not bringing home that Evening Rose I fell in love with. Fashion, lifestyle and beauty, all rolled into one brand, breathing femininity, elegance and class. Founded by Aerin Lauder, granddaughter of Estée Lauder herself, this luxury lifestyle brand encompasses fragrances, beauty, fashion and home deco, each and every item exuding Aerin’s personal, impeccable taste (just google the images of her Aspen home!) Her first foray into her own brand was the launch of her 5 signature scents: Evening Rose, Ikat Jasmine, Amber Musk, Gardenia Rattan and Lilac Path. Each and every one highly personal and based on emotions, dreams and memories, these fragrances represent 5 situations that can have this immediate effect of wellbeing on anyone, …

Me Time

A while ago there was a campaign from Swedish Mammoth Ikea asking us about our ultimate Me-Time moments. With two children, a full time job, a hobby I refuse to give up (that would be this little thing right here you’re reading right now, for which I thank you very much!), Me-Time moments are a rare occurrence, but sometimes even I manage to switch off, and that’s thanks to my ultimate 3 me-time moments: 1. A mask a day Or any kind of beauty moment by extension. Any moment where I can squeeze in a little beauty action is a good moment! Whether an extensive face mask routine (triple threats are the way to go!), a cleansing, face massage quickie to end my day, doing my nails or glamming up my otherwise bare naked face, it brightens my mood and eases the stress. Frontunner in this category remains that pure moment of spoiling yourself that is a visit to your favourite hairdresser. The chit chat, the head massage, the capable fingers of the hair stylist colouring, …

Sophie Bille Brahe

Every woman loves jewellery! A fact that is as true as water being wet, sun being warm and a crow desiring all that glistens and gleams. Some have a pendant for costume jewellery, decorating themselves from head to toe, dreaming themselves a true Old Hollywood movie star. Others prefer a more subdued aproach, gracefully enhancing their necks, ears, wrists or fingers with fine jewellery, exquisite in it’s subtlety and pureness. Sophie Bille Brahe‘s designs for her eponymous brand  definitely cater to that second category of women, enchanting us with elegant designs with an avant-garde twist that showcase her Scandinavian roots and her passion for astrology, clean lines, storytelling and elegance. A graduate from London’s Royal College of Arts, Sophie Bille Brahe returrned to her hometown of Copenhagen and started working on her own project. With keywords such as modern luxury, elegance, poetic elements and innovation, her collections since 2013 have featured a modern play on pearls, astrology, delicately diamond dotted pieces and the reflections of precious stones and muted gold. Subtle pieces, such as dainty …

Pinspiration!

Outfits, make up looks, new recipes, decoration ideas that drive Mr B crazy, whenever I am looking for some inspiration, Pinterest is my first (an sometimes only stop), before I start tearing pages out of magazines (yes, I still do that) and obsessively scour Tumblr. During one of those lost-in-the-corners-of-Pinterest sessions, I stumbled across this picture and crash boom bang, I fell head over heels for this look! Skinny jeans, rich oxblood jacket and matching bag, snuggly warm oversized scarf, delicate jewellry, beautiful, radiant kin and a soft lip, this is the ideal fall/winter look come to life! The warmth of the wine red against the perrenial class and style of the dark denim, the oversized texture and pattern of the scarf countering the goody two shoes classic-ness of the jacket, and that bag, sweet heavens that bag! Switch the sexy pumps for black ankle boots and the silk shirt for a cashmere knit if you want to up the casual cool. Whichever way you look at it, the possibilities are endless! Now if you’ll excuse …

Anyone planning a trip to London, Paris or New York these next few weeks to get their Christmas shopping done? Or just savour that Christmas spirit? Wander the local markets, enchanted by beautifully put together window stills, fairy lit shopping streets and stay in gorgeously decorated hotels, where well known designers often display their take on seasonal cheer and create the epic Christmas tree in the hotel lobby. Why not forego the often-visited, traditional December weekend-trip destinations, and discover the gem that is our own capital, Brussels, during a little Christmas-lovin’ weekend? Stella McCartney Linda Camera Bag for Canon

Truth be told, I don’t need a new camera bag, I don’t even need a new camera, but for this collaboration I would buy both bag and camera! Canon has teamed up with the ever so graceful Stella McCartney for one very stylish collaboration honouring her late mother. The Stella MCartney Linda Camera Bag for Canon is indeed a camera bag (what’s in a name), but the gorgeous neutral tones, metallic accents and almost luminescent handles give it the look of a downright designer tote, albeit a smaller one.  Staying  true to the ecological roots of her mother, the bag is made of Eco Nappa leather. Paired with the Canon EOS 100D White, this will be available as from November 2014 at Selfridges  and Harrods in a limited quantity of 1000 bags. Granted, the price tag of £1,200 is on the steep side of things, but I can still see this gem selling out faster that me uploading this article.

Wishlist Wednesday – Sipsmith London Dry Gin

A small departure from my usual beauty and fashion offerings, but stylish nonetheless. And not wishlist per se, as I already took it home with me, but coveted nonetheless. Two weekends ago saw the 3rd Gin Fair in Antwerp, and as a gin-tonic afficionados (that’s putting it midly), Mr B and I made it a date. Kids happily playing at their grandparents’, we prepared ourseleves for what was to come with a luch at Ellis Gourmet Burger and afterwards, off we went for an afternoon of gin-tasting, cocktail-pairing and all round new discoveries. We saw, tasted and learned a lot, but there was one stand-out for me, the one that kept luring me back, was the Sipsmith collection. They very kindly let me savour each and every one of their offerings, and having never heard of this London based distillery before, it only seemed natural to begin at the beginning, with the Sipsmith London Dry Gin. Their version of the classic London Dry Gin is like a truely sensual woman, well rounded and complex, perfectly …
