Spotlight – Clarins Eau Des Jardins

How about go about things a bit differently today? How about, instead of raving about the tenth great new fragrace launch this year, we rave about one of the launches that has proven it’s worth and stood the test of time? A little trip down the Hall Of Fame?  A product deserving of some extra time in the spotlight?! Clarins Eau Des Jardins is the ultimate summer fragrance! A clever hybrid of a summery scent, aromatherapy and even a dash of skincare, the citrus-y scent will boost your mood (perfect for those early mornings!) and even work a little magic on your skin. Etheric oils of  orange, grapefruit, lemon, bergamot,  wild rose, bay leaf and dry oils from cedar, vetiver and white musk make it the ultimate fresh summer scent, while the blackcurrant bud (soothing), beech bud (moisturizing) and the sorcier bud (illuminating) give your skin a little va-va-voom. Added bonus? It is the absolute only fragrance I can wear without getting  burned when it is really sunny outside (trust me, I’ve tried…and suffered…). Clarins Eau …

Leen Travels – An Even Lighter Body Care Menu

Yesterday you could read all about me being proud of myself for packing only the skincare essentials (major over-packer here!), but the rest of the toiletries proved to be even more difficult. Not wanting to lugg around a different set of toiletries for everyone, I chose multifunctional over fancy personal preferences, and went for the troupers that work for Mr B, the little ones and me. The Avène XeraCalm Lipid-Replenishing Cleansing Oil  is the one all rounder that works for everyone in the LeenLovesStyle household. Soft and gentle enough for me and Little Miss C yet thorough enough to get a kid clean after a day outside. Hair is covered by good old Nivea, with a little touch of Aussie for me, I’m taking the 3 Minute Miracle Reconstruction Mask to fix that dried out pool / sun hair situation.  After showering, a lick of  the La Roche-Posay Lipikar Balm AP+ does wonders for all of us, from Little Miss C’s atopic skin to Mr B’s man’s legs. Also coming on this trip is the …

5 Things – The Wishlist edition

Seems like an eternity since I last feautured a 5 thing post here on LeenLovesStyle, but no fear, we are easing back into the swing of these (whilst trying not to overload you dears with too many product reviews…). First up, a few of the items that have jumped onto my wishlist (it is Wednesday after all!). Edited down to the five picks that have caught my eye, here we go! * Reiss has done it again! Browsing their webshop for a few ideas for my little sis’  wedding later this year quickly turned into a full on love fest! Currently racing through my mind are the Alexia shorts and this Hermione top, and how breathtaking are those cut-out sandals? Or pair them with that makes-me-want-to-play graphic playsuit? * The Christopher Kane for NARS Collection: Whenever NARS presents something new, I am all eyes and ears (NARS Fanclub? Where do I sign up?), and the very moment I spotted this new collaboration on Harpers Bazaar, I was sold! Based on the spectrum of reds and pinks used by Christopher Kane in …

Mummy’s little helpers – how to look good, even after hardly any sleep.

Chances are that I look like a wreck at the moment. Beauty blogger or not, a lack of sleep has this way of causing havoc on your skin and appearance, and no one knows this better than mothers! My two little munchkins have been messing up my nightly dose of zzzzzzz’s lately, and my skin and eyes (Bags down to my knees! Red, blotchy, grainy skin!) are showing for it! However, I have a few little tricks up my sleeve that jolt my skin right back into thinking it had a full night’s sleep, after a comforting mug of ginger & lemon tea and a bowl of organic yoghurt with blueberries and some apple spiced walnut muesli, these lifesavers come out to do their job! The Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil is a longtime love of mine, if soulmates came in beauty products, this would be mine! A few drops after my serum and before my moisturizer perk my skin right up, adding the necessary moisture, nourishment and calmth while providing the Vitamin A that boosts …

Covering your bases with Clarins

As I wrote yesterday, Clarins has surprised me with one of the most pretty, if not the prettiest Spring collection of them all. But besides that gorgeous make up collection, they are also presenting two new launches this Spring that are bound to put a spring in my step and hopefully simplify my morning routine and work their magic on my soon to be newborn baby fatigue – riddled complexion. Launching this month are the Clarins Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complex, three priming bases that aim to brighten your skin where needed and conceal what needs to be concealed. All three shades hydrate the skin for a plumper, more even complexion whilst also offering protection from environmental aggressors such as pollution and free radicals. Creamy and smooth, these are designed to create a fresh, flawless base. Rose will mainly add a dose of luminosity to dull skin, Champagne is perfect for neutralizing any redness plus create an even tone and lastly Peach, which boosts your skin with vitality and radiance. Needless to say I’ve got …

Clarins Opalescence Collection Spring 2014

Spring is hopefully around the corner, and with that, the presentations of all the new Spring collections pop up everywhere. Now I’m normally not one to be lured in by each and every special collection, but this Spring’s offering from Clarins is just too pretty to resist. As always, Clarins have it covered with a focus on a fresh beauty look, with the Clarins Opalescence Collection offering a radiant reflection and soft, shimmering touches of colour thanks to feminine corals, tulips and pinks. Consisiting of a number of limited edtion and permanent collection pieces, this collection encapsulates the soft, luminous Spring light with a radiance enhancing products and beautiful mother-of-pearl packaging. Star product of each Clarins collection is always the flawless face powder, designed to boost the complexion and add a touch of colour and radiance to the skin. The Poudre teint & blush contains three shades that will boost your complexion and provide a soft rosy flush to the cheeks. This one has my name written all over it!  A new addition to the Clarins line are these new cream …
