The Everyday Look That Also Wows At Night

These two looks have pretty much been a steady fixture on my face these last few weeks, office days, endless meetings, brunch with my friends, dinner dates, they have seen me look glorious through it all! Low in amount of products, even lower in effort but high in effect, shortly put, my kind of look! If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! Let’s have a quick peek, shall we? For my base, I must admit to having played around a bit, depending on the coverage / glow ratio I want to obtain, switching between the Givenchy Beauty Balm, the Sisley Phyto Teint and the Eucerin Hyaluron Filler CC Cream. A light touch of bronzer later, I turn my focus to my eyes. I started to become real lazy with eyeshadow lately, so an easy application and a quick dusting of one colour all over the lid are my two requirements at the moment. Clear the eyeshadow playing field for Buberry Sheer Eyeshadow in Pale Barley and Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon Eye Stick in Amber Haze. Both variations on …

5 Things

It’s been a while since I last did one of these 5 Things articles, giving you a peek inside my head and try to decipher the constant internal rambling that goes on in there. Beauty, fashion, interior design, work planning, kids wardrobes, that’s only a fraction of what rushed through my mind any given day these last few weeks, so how about we dive straight in? Everyone that knows me personally, knows that I work for a green and renewable energy company, so when fashions meets sustainabilty, I am all ears! Marks and Spencer brought their Clothes Exchange to Belgium this week, and I was bopping around like a kid on Christmas Eve, giddy with excitement. For each donation of used clothes and 30 euo purchase, you get a 5 euro voucher. Out with the old, in with the new, extra budget for a next shopping trip and putting in your 2 cents for Mother Nature, what’s not to like?! Looking online for decoration inspiration for my future kitchen remains one of my favourite pastimes, …

Fashion Dreaming – French Riviera Chic

Most of my childhood summer holidays were spent down in the sunny South of France, visiting every inch and corner between Monaco and the Spanish border. Even now, each year when May comes to an end, summer is round the corner and I start longing for the sun on my skin, sand between my feet and salt in the air, I get this longing to drop everything and just disappear to the French Riviera! All I want is to stroll the little cobblestone streets, eat ice cream, drink rosé on a sun-drenched waterside terrace and dress like Grace Kelly in To Catch a Thief.   Nautical stripes, clean lines, flowy cuts, all in a palette of white and blue with a dash of red. I may not be strutting my stuff in Saint Tropez just yet, but this weekend, I’ll already start dressing as if I were! Sunnies  /  Cross Body Bag  / Breton Stripe Top / Jumpsuit / Shorts / Cami Top / Sandals / White Crochet Shorts / Dress

Wishlist Wednesday – Burberry Rocks The Espadrille

Burberry has always held a special place in my heart (even back when it was all tartan and no trend). The icon par excellence of all things British has gone from being a British upper class staple to becoming a worldwide trendsetter ( That monogrammed poncho! That heart-print blouse! The make up!). Each season, their collection enchants me in unexpected ways, leaving me lusting after something I never thought I’d want, and this summer, it’s no different. Espadrilles never really appealed all that much to me, not even when the Chanel ones were all the rage a few season ago. Sure, I do have a hot pink pair that I only wear at home, but actually combining them with a great outfit and go outside? Never! Fast forward to about a week ago, when A Burberry newsletter dropped into my mailbox, and my heart skipped a beat! I instantly fell in love! Head over heels, hook, line and sinker, you know the likes. Not a check in sight, the stripe or animal print just beg …

A soft look for Christmas

If you’re anything like me, you just love to plan everything. Christmas decorations need to have a theme, table decorations need to match that theme, your Christmas outfit has been chosen long in advance, and even make up looks are contemplated well up front. Not everyone always wants to go all out with a smokey eye so glam the Christmas Tree looks rather dishevelled next to you, but if you want to keep it simple yet elegant, my soft-lit look might just be what you’re looking for. First things first, start by prepping your base with the Clinique Universal Superprimer to keep it looking extra fresh, extra long. Buff in the Sisley Phyto Teint Expert All Day Long Foundation until you’ve got the coverage you prefer, and then finish off by covering those pesky dark circles and red spots. My weapons of choice for that? The NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer and the Bobbi Brown Corrector. A very light dusting of the Bourjois Java Rice Powder delicatly illuminates skin without looking like a disco ball, a …

Burberry Eyewear Trench Collection

While it is grey and depressing outside, with grey skies looming and rain about to come pouring down, I’m sat here inside with a big, steaming cup of tea, longingly looking at summer collections and accessories. Such weather calls for comfort, and comfort is often found in personal favourites and staples. One of mine are my glasses (to face or hide away from the world) and as it happens, Britain’s finest have just released their newest eyewear collection.  Burberry’s trenchcoat has long been a true icon, renowed worldwide and loved by all ages and races. Created as a protection from the elements (perfect on a rainy day like this), it has become a true staple in every woman and man’s closet. Inspired by this iconic piece, the Burberry Trench Eyewear Collection is an optical reflection of the classic. From the infamous Burberry check on the temples to the leather temple tips, these glasses reflect the craftsmanship that Burberry values. Made from enamel, metal, acetate, and leather, the collection of glasses and sunglasses embraces a classic Burberry …

Burberry Beauties

Recently I posted my birthday wishlist, and while that was already quite a list, I did not add one of my main beauty loves of this year, Burberry Beauty, which requires it’s own list. Head over heels for this and with no sign of our love affair fizzling out, Burberry Beauty is slowly but surely taking over my make-up collection, with several eyeshadows, the foundation, highlighter and bronzer all having secured their place in my daily make-up bag. After launching their cosmetics range in 2010 and it’s instant global succes, it was only a matter of time before the British powerhouse jumped on the bandwagon to release a covetable nailpolish collection this autumn: the Trench Kisses Nail Polish. Keeping in line with Burberry Beauty’s core mindset of “effortless elegance”, the 3 polishes released this month are inspired by their couture counterpart’s autumn/winter colour palette: a milky-nude Stone, a beautiful dark red Oxblood and graphite black Poppy Black.  Created by the brand’s artistic consultant Wendy Rowe under the creative direction of Christopher Bailey, the formula promises to include moisturizing …

BURBERRY BODY TENDER

Ik hou van Burberry! There, I said it! Hun klassiek ruitjespatroon net iets minder, maar hun trenchcoats, clutches en runway outfits kunnen me keer op keer bekoren (kijk maar eens naar mijn My Dream Wardrobe board op Pinterest – bewijs in overvloed). En hun make up collectie, oh die make up collectie! Best thing since sliced bread!
