Red face fixers

I admit, sometimes I don’t even practice what I preach (bad beauty blogger here!) and stay too long in the sunshine without topping up my SPF. This usually involves a sunny afternoon, friends and a few glasses of sangria… Result, a face with a terrible sunburn, cheeks as red as a first-class lobster and so painful I cannot even think about opening and closing my mouth. Unfortunately the Spanish sun did a number on my face during our holiday this month, and these two were the only ones that kept my skin from itching, hurting and burning. Shortly put, happy face, happy me! Better safe than sorry, but in case you’re suffering from a nasty sunburn, here’s what I tried. After a gentle cleansing with the La Roche Posay Rosaliac Micellar Make Up Removal Gel, I apply a really thick layer of the Avène Soothing Moisture Mask. This little tube has been my best friend ver since I bought my first one about three years. A whole lot of calming and hydrating goodness, and my …

Leen Travels – An Even Lighter Body Care Menu

Yesterday you could read all about me being proud of myself for packing only the skincare essentials (major over-packer here!), but the rest of the toiletries proved to be even more difficult. Not wanting to lugg around a different set of toiletries for everyone, I chose multifunctional over fancy personal preferences, and went for the troupers that work for Mr B, the little ones and me. The Avène XeraCalm Lipid-Replenishing Cleansing Oil  is the one all rounder that works for everyone in the LeenLovesStyle household. Soft and gentle enough for me and Little Miss C yet thorough enough to get a kid clean after a day outside. Hair is covered by good old Nivea, with a little touch of Aussie for me, I’m taking the 3 Minute Miracle Reconstruction Mask to fix that dried out pool / sun hair situation.  After showering, a lick of  the La Roche-Posay Lipikar Balm AP+ does wonders for all of us, from Little Miss C’s atopic skin to Mr B’s man’s legs. Also coming on this trip is the …

Winter wonders

So when skin get itchy and flaky, hair gets extra static and you generallly feel discomfort, you know it is time to bring out the big guns, the winter-beating wonders. Though a hot, steaming shower might seem like the perfect antidote to a chilly winter’s day, it does more harm than good. a gentle wash with the Avène XeraCalm Lipid-Replenishing Cleansing Oil* gives my itchy limbs the relief they so desperately need, without further irritating or aggravating it. So soft and gentle I even use it on little Miss C as well!  The La Roche-Posay Lipikar Balm AP+* hardly needs any explanation. a firm favourite of LeenLovesstyle (read here why), this French miracle worker soothes and relieves dried …
