Family Fun

When the invitation for the ZulupaPUWA 10 year birthday party came galloping into my mailbox, it was quickly decided that we would make it a family day at the the zoo. End of summer, an all access pass at the zoo, a gorgeous sunlit day, two happy children and a Mr B taking a day off work, all the ingredients were there for an amazing family day. Before and after the new collection presentation (which, buy the way is an absolute stunner, a real sartorial fest for stylish kids), the kids roamed, discovered and conquered the animal kingdom of Planckendael, and Mr B and I enjoyed every minute of it! Diapers and Milk and a brand new hotspot

Looking for the perfect marble printed tees and leggings for my little ones (Obsessed? Me?) , I stumbled across Diapers and Milk on Studio Aimée and I was sold! In an instant, hook, line and sinker! What may look like an ordinary collection of leggings to an outstander, is actually my idea of sartorial heaven for my mini me’s! What may look like just a collection of basic leggings is in fact the brainchild of Leia Sfez (check this übercool mom’s Instagram, it’s envy-enducing and inspiring at the same time!), and draws from her personal style. Minimalist, monochrome and architectural are key words,  which make that these, mainly minimalistic black and white are timeless, priceless and full of style. All Diapers and Milk pieces are made out of organic cotton and printed with non-toxic ink,  The combination possibilities are endless,  and as Leia does not follow the season but updates her collection continuously, so are the shopping possibilities! And when Leia does collaborations, so does them right! A brainstorming session with Veja led to these …

BA&SH – My Mum Is A Superhero!

I’ve never been one for dressing alike, two brothers or sisters head to toe in the same pieces might make any other motther jump for joy, but for me, it’s a big no? Same for Mummy/Daddy & Me looks, more no than for so’. But then I had a little lady to dress… A few months later Tiany Kiriloff came with her Mummy – Daughter collection for Essentiel…and now ba&sh is completely winning me over with their #MUMISMYSUPERHERO capsule summer collection. French ooh la la meets effortless chic and a dash of casual bohèmien, ba&sh is the latest French label that should taking over your wardrobe. Created by lifelong friends Barbara Boccara and Sharon Krieff who wanted to create their “ideal every day closet.”. Luxe knitwear, printed skirts, silk, cashmere and soft cottons, sounds like everything I want in my closet as well!   And whatever works for mom, works for the little miss as well. This Spring, ba&sh is launching a capsule collection, based on their classics, with each item available in an ault and …

5 Things – The Kids Edition

It’s been a while since I last gave you a sneak peek into my mind via these 5 little titbits, and this time, it is all about the little ones. Autumn officially started earlier this month, and, as if it was programmed as such by Mother Nature, the Indian Summer we have been experiencing for the last few week is slowly fading away, making way for sunny mornings, crisp blue skies, falling leafs and best of all, pumpkin spice lattes. As much as I love this change of seasons, when it comes to my 2 little rugrats, it means only one thing: clothes, clothes and more clothes. Autumn also means the start of a new school year, and my toddler somehow managed to either have grown out of or played a tad too enthousiastically in all of his trousers and long-sleeve T-shirts. Little Miss Diva of course couldn’t stay behind so she decided to outgrow all of her clothes as well in a matter of a mere forthnight. These 5 discoveries have made me hog the …

Kirilove for Essentiel

Belgium’s own Anna Dello Russo, the gorgeous Tiany Kiriloff is at it again! Not content with being the leading lady of style, the founder of Belmodo.tv has put pen to paper and has created a special SS14 capsule collection together with Flemish power-fashionhouse Essentiel. Best touch of the collection? It was created together with her two mini-me’s, daughters Yelena and Eloise. A Mummy-and-Me collection if you like. If you follow Tiany’s social media sites, you will undoubtedly have seen that she above all is a devoted mother, albeit a very stylish one. And with a mum as fashionable as Mrs Kiriloff, it is no wonder that the two little ladies love nothing more than raiding Mummy’s wardrobe and putting up a show in front of the mirror. And it is exactly that very wardrobe that forms the basis of this collaboration. Mini me’s of course love to have the same outfits as their mother, and Kirilove for Essentiel well understands this. Part of the collection is available in both adult and children’s versions, and there are …

Baby Gap Loves Paddington Bear (and I love both)

I like shopping for myself! However, I love shopping for my kids! Before my first pregnancy, I never would have thought so, but my children’s wardrobes are my greatest enjoyment and biggest guilty pleasure. Too cool for school outfits, little onesies to woo everyone in, sturdy basics and like daddy, like son looks, I know where to find them and revel in buying them! Belgium has got it pretty well covered with Petit Bateau, H&M, Zara and Hema amongst others to score those wardrobe additions for my little ones, but the one thing we are sorely missing, is a brick-and-mortar BabyGap store. And let it be BabyGap that always seems to nail it, from collaborations with Diane von Furstenberg and Stella McCartney to cute collections featuring Peter Rabbit and kick-ass superheroes. The latest collection gets the Paddington Bear treatment, and it’s just too cute for words. The original illustrations by Peggy Fortnum serve as inspiration for this limited edition line, ranging from newborn bodysuits to Paddington’s signature duffel coat and yellow Wellington rain boots. Now, which one …

H&M All for Kids Collection

Halloween is coming up, and while this holiday may not yet be as popular and widely known in Belgium as it is in the US, any reason to dress up is a good one, especially for children. H&M have always my go-to place when it comes to fun clothes for my little one, and this autumn they have gone even one step further and have created a special “dressing up” collection for children in support of UNICEF. The All For Children Collection supports UNICEF’s educational and health care projects by donating 25% of the sales of this collection. H&M launched the All for Children initiative with UNICEF in 2009 with a $4.5million donation to help children in need. This autumn’s collection will help UNICEF reach 40,000 children living in slums in Dhaka with improved education, security and rights protection. “I’m so excited that this year’s All for Children collection is all about dressing up. Children love to have fun with their clothing. This collection will allow them to enter new worlds, tell new stories, and to have …

Tommy Hilfiger x The Muppets

After last year’s “Meet The Family” capsule collection and it’s global succes, American fashion maestro Tommy Hilfiger has once more teamed up with The Walt Disney Company for a sartorial coorperation. This time, the preppy brand has designed a Spring/Summer ’13 capsule collection for kids, drawing inspiration from The Muppets. Kermit, Animal and co go bold and preppy, with 4 t-shirts and a sweatshirt for the boys, and 4 t-shirts, a sweatshirt and a dress for the girls. Colourful and tongue-in-cheek, these pieces feature images of Kermit, Miss Piggy, Animal, Fozzie Bear, Beaker and my personal favourites, Statler and Waldorf. To boot, most items feature the character’s most popular catchphrase. Tommy Hilfiger and UPR were so kind to send me an item from this collection for my little man at home, and they seem to know him perfectly, because when I opened that package, the Animal-sweater came peeking out. Talk about a perfect match! The sweater fits perfectly, you can dress it up or down as you wish, he loves the print and I can just already see …

Six hugs & Rock ’n Roll

PR Days Antwerp – Media Mania
