Thank you Nivea for making beach days easier with my kids!

Life’s a beach! Or how I would love it to be so! I love the beach, Mr B loves the beach, and to say that the kids love the beach, well that’s a bit of an understatement! However, the protective side of a day at the beach, yeah, they’re not so keen on that. You know that mum that is always running across the sand, trying to catch her kids, shouting “Get back here, you need more sunscreen!” That’s me! And those kids making a run for it, not wanting to be covered in sticky, white goo? You guessed it, my two rugrats. Turns out, Nivea has me covered. Anything that glides on like one, two, three makes my kids happy. and when the kids are happy, the parents have it a lot easier as well. The iconic blue bottles of Nivea sunscreenhave been a constant presence on almost each and every holiday I’ve ever been on in my life, and this summer, they have tweaked and improved their offerings a bit. First up, the …

Insta Life

I came , I saw, I wish I conquered (but fell flat on my face due to exhaustion). Julius Caesar may have beaten me on the “conquered” part, but I saw a lot these last few weeks, and wanted to round up the highlights up for you. As you read this, I’m off enjoying some time off in La Douce France with Mr B and our mini me’s, so if you want to know how that’s going, make sure to follow my Instagram account (@leenstruyf) to see all of the hits and misses, and more importantly, my much desired visits to a French Pharmacy for their beauty and skincare sections! Summer Wishlist – The Kids Edition

My husband recently asked me if there ever was a reason not to shop for my little ones (when I tried to convince him that Little Miss C really needed that ultra-cute dress we just saw, and when I tried to make him forget about the other 10 dresses already hanging in her closet….). Sorry darling husband of mine, but let’s be honest, there is never not a reason to shop for our little ones! With summer finally approaching (let’s hope so!), I’ve been on the hunt for a few last minute additions to round out Little Miss C’s and Mister A’s wardrobes, let’s jump straight in, shall we? Coolness aplenty for A, this Six Hugs and Rock ’n Roll “Legends” number injects a serious dose of rock and roll; and the Petit Bateau x Keith Haring t-shirt gives his wardrobe an arty vibe. Add in a few pairs of streetsyle shorts, such as this antsy H&M one and this Stella McCartney Bix Surfer Tattoo army green pair. A pair of summer-y flip flops and this beach boy is ready! Little Miss C …

IKKS JUNIOR x ARMOR LUX – A Breton Stripe Extravaganza

Got your attention now, didn’t I? If you’re anything like me, nothing gets your fashion heart racing faster than a Breton stripe. A France Fashion Fanatic at heart, I could wear a Breton stripe all day, every day, any day, and I’ll be damned if my kids don’t have a stripe here and a stripe there tucked into their wardrobe. Armor Lux has this maritime themed Breton stripe thing down to a t, and when IKKS approached them for a collaboration, kids spring summer 2016 fashion just got a whole more interesting. Fusing Armor Lux’s nautical inspiration with IKKS’ French rock-vibe created a kick ass IKKS Junior x Armor Lux Collection, almost like Brigitte Bardot and Serge Gainsbourgh had a Saint Tropez love child. Reds, whites and blues, a Breton stripe meets a touch of graphic design… Spring, we’re longing for you! IKKS Junior x Armor Lux collection – available now in IKKS stores and on http://www.ikks.com.

Marmalade Sky

Instagram is swoon worthy, time consuming and oh so addictive, but above all, it is a true treasure trove for discovering new brands. Case in point: Marmalade Sky! I recently stumbled across this kids fashion brand while scrolling through my Instagram feed one lunch break, and the Milk Print Skinny Leg Harem pants kept my index finger hanging mid air, my breath gasping and my eyes glistening with excitement! I needed to know more, and I needed to know asap! A quick study session later taught me that Marmalade Sky is the result of a cool mum’s creativity and keen eye for design! Keen but unable to find cool, quirky but above all gender neutral clothes for her son, womenswear designer Sarah Ives took matters into her own hands (I love a mum like that!) and started creating her own pieces for him. Not content with just designing the pieces, she went a step further and printed her own fabric as well. Stylish babies always get noticed by fellow mums, and soon one thing led …

Happy New Year!

2015 has come and gone, 2016 has begun, and so has all the fun! (See what I did there!). Even though the 1st of January is already behind us, I still wanted to take a little moment  before getting back into the swing of things. Before anything else, I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all the love and support this past year! Every single read, like and comment (both on- and offline!) meant more to me than you’ll ever realize, and I am extremely grateful for each and every one of them.  2015 was a bit of a rocky year, both personally and on the blog, but a new year offers a chance to start afresh. Time to write that new chapter! For that new chapter, I would love your input! What do you want to see more or less of on LeenLovesStyle? Less beauty? Or even more beauty? Increase the fashion dose? Or maybe inject a bit more lifestyle? Maybe a bit more structure? Let me know …

Saint Nicolas Loves Lego + GIVEAWAY

December is peeping round the corner, and if you’re a kid in Belgium or the Netherlands, exciting times are ahead! While the rest of the world is gearing up for Christmas, children all over the Low Countries are rejoicing because the 6th of December is coming up, and that can only mean one thing! Saint Nicolas is coming! And he brings toys! And chocolate! And cookies! One of the great things about having children is how they bring all your childhood memories back to life. All of a sudden, that magic of Saint Nicolas is real again, with the overenthusiastic jumping up and down when the toy catalogues come falling onto our doorstep to helping them write their letters and preparing their shoe. But above all, it’s a great excuse to start playing with your favourite childhood toys! Both Mr B and I were huge Lego-lovers when we were little, and for now to see that A & C not only adore it as well, but hardly want to play with anything else, makes it …

Life Through Instagram Glasses

Instagram is by far my favourite social media channel, a picture tells a thousand words and each one is an instant flashback to that moment, mood and emotion. Last month was a calmer one, less events and meetings, but even with most of time spent with the little ones and at work, I still want to take pictures of every single second. A memorable Bugaboo presentation, a gorgeous sunrise, a failed outfit shoot and lots of beauty and quality family time, care to join me for a few of the highlights of this past month? Five Things – Cool Kids Brands

Friday is here, another week has come and gone again, and what better way to spend your weekend with a spot of shopping (online or offline, as you wish!). If you’re like me, chances are that you’ve turned your kids’ wardrobe into your own personal styling project (Ain’t nobody touching it but me! Seriously!), and if so, here are 5 über stylish kids’ fashion brands you need to discover! Emile Et Ida French, cute, playful, do you need any other reason? The brainchild of Delphine and Céline, 2 Parisian mamans, the pieces are refined but easy-going at the same times, with folk and rock touches. Looks so pretty that the mums will love their kids in it, but are so comfortable the littles ones will have no problem letting loose in.  Especially their sweatshirts are too sweet, and have me caving in every time! But which one to choose next for A? The Viking? The Rain one? Oh and that kitty cat one for Miss C! Stella McCartney Kids I might be pointing out the obvious …

Star Wars – The Kids Version

Long gone are the days of dressing my little man to my own liking, he knows what he wants, and boy, does he tell me so! Already engrossed in everything that is robots, machines and all that flies or drives, he spotted these t-shirts the moment I brought them home and has wanted to wear little to nothing else ever since. Star Wars fandom has reached mythical heights ever since it’s release, and with a new episode coming soon, there’s no escaping it! IKKS realized that not only the big boys are thrilled with this new part of the saga, the little boys out there also love their C-3PO, R2-D2 and Yoda, and want to wear their heart on their sleeves (literally!). For these little guys, IKKS created the Star Wars Collection, a set of sweathsirts and t-shirts for all those wanting to be in a galaxy far, far away! Grey, black, navy and Star Wars prints, is it any wonder my little man wants to wear his longsleeves day and night?       …
