After a good few months of rocking a strong lip, I’ve slowly been venturing back into the world of eyeshadows. Electric blues and gold glitters still scare the bejesus out of me, but slowly but surely those soft taupe, sand and copper tones are popping up more and more in my daily make up look. Bourjois takes me straight back to my late teens, when I first started wearing make up behind my mum’s back and would sneak into my local beauty hall to buy their rond pots with my allowance. Fifteen years later, we seem to have come full circle. A new Wednesday, a new wishlist item, or so it seems. Proof that big love can come from small packaging: the Grown Alchemist Hydra Repair Cream Masque. And when I say small, I really do mean small, this latest infatuation actually stems from a sample sachet. I received a sample of this mask with a Philvert order of some other Grown Alchemist goodies (later more on those), gave it a try, and ended up squeezing every single last bit out of the sachet (actually cut it right open so that all could be used) for three more uses…. The luck of the Irish is upon us! Or at least upon my skin. One of the latest additions to my skincare cabinet was the VOYA Dream Cream Restorative Night Cream*, brought in to fill the void left when I scraped the last bit out of my previous nighttime sweetie, the Antipodes Avocado Pear Nourishing Night Cream. VOYA though probably not new to you beauty afficionada’s, is new to me (shame on me!). The core DNA of this Irish brand is  is organic seaweed, combined with the best botanical ingredients. The eyes have it, or so they say. And if indeed, the eyes really do have it, better make sure that those eyes look stellar. Which, at the moment, they don’t. Before I dive in head first into the 14 day long food coma also known as The Holidays, I want to get a headstart and protect my skin from the carnage that’s ahead. That’s right, come Christmas I go at it full force, forget any and all mention of diets, common sense and double cleansing, so in an attempt to minimize the damage upfront, I’ve added the Babor Reversive Anti Ageing Overnight Mask to my nighttime routine. Truth be told, it’s too soon to do a full review as I’ve only started using it a fortnight ago, but still, I do already have a few things worth sharing. I have a thing for masks, and especially masks that I do not have to take off after a certain amount of time, so thumbs up for this creamy yet not too thick texture that I can easily lather on. To say that I love face oils is like saying The Great British Bake Off will no longer be the same, sweater weather is the best kind of weather or that twinning is winning (sweater weather twinning…. now there’s a thing…) …. it is, quite simply, stating the obvious. So when a while ago my stash dwindled to a mere single bottle, I rightfully panicked, sprung into action and immediately replenished my stash by going bringingback an old favourite and trying out a new kid on the block.
