My Hair Has Gone Into Weekend Mode….

And so have I! After a few weeks of plainly tending to my hair, and giving it all it needs, I’ve been slowly thinking about styling it a bit, changing it up a bit. Now don’t go imagining elaborate updo’s or twisted braids, my hairdressing skills don’t exactly go further than messy waves or a top knot… Soft, tousled waves  have long seemed like an impossible dream—the hair equivalent of no-makeup makeup, appearing effortless, but more often than not, requiring a batallion of tools. However, these two recent discoveries have proven to be quite handy (see what I did there :-)) and not a tool in sight but a spritz, a crunch and my two hands.

Step one is the Miriam Quevedo White Caviar White Glacial Leave-In Conditioner. Miriam Quevedo has already seen some love on this blog before (see here), and this new spray continues that love streak. A combination of oils (Camellia, Baobab and White Caviar), Vitamins and Hyaluronic Acid keep my tresses strong, bouncy, resilient and frizz free without weighing them down, and the leave-in formula could not be easier to apply (#winning). just my two hands, remember?

I must be one of the only people on the planet who is not a big fan of the Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray. Somehow the original formula and my hair did not really see eye to eye, with an 80’s style crimped look, a tacky crunch or salt crusted limp strands as a result. Not a good look! However, the impossible dream overcame my adversion of the original spray when the Bumble & Bumble Surf Infusion landed on my desk, so I just had to give it a go, even if it was to confirm my initial dislike. A rejiggered version of the original, the water component has been replaced by coconut, palm, mango seed and passion fruit oils. And somehow, this replacement seems key. The oils soften and nourish my locks, keeping away the crimp and crunch, and the sea salt gives it that much wanted, mythic subtle curve of almost-there waves. A little spritz on dry locks works perfectly as a day-two hair pick me up, and the scent, oh the scent…
