Testing Testing

Not all that comes in, makes it onto the blog. Mainly because t didn’t work for me, wasn’t suitable for my skin or simply because I only have one face, and rather test certain things thoroughly than go for a new product every week. These products have been tried and tested over the last few months, and most of them have been added to my cabinet or routine without much fanfare or mention on this blog, but I still wanted to shine a light on them.

The Origins Gin-Zing Energy Boosting Moisture does exactly what it says, it moisturizes and boosts. My Sahara skin needs more when the temperatues drop, but  this might be the perfect summer moisturiser. However, when combined with the Collistar Hyaluronic Acid Drops and Avène Hydrance Hydrating Serum, it becomes (for a while) a different story. The hydration levels go through the roof at first, and keep my skin going until well in the afternoon. However, having to top it up late afternoon is what’s stopping me from going full on enthusiastic about this one. Another new entry in the moisturizing department is the Collistar Sublime Black Precious Cream. Intimidating at first thanks to it’s charcoal-black shade, this cream turns completely transparent upon application, and the gel-like texture has a delightful soothing effect. Again one for the summer months though due to lack of longlasting and thorough moisturisation (#saharaskin), but the glow I get from this black gold (especially when combined with the Avène Hydrance Hydrating Serum) give it a serious edge over the Origins one. My eyes have been liking but not loving the Erborian Yuza Sorbet Eye Serum, it’s freshness gives a little jolt each morning, but not much more unfortunately… The Rodial Dragon’s Blood Eye Masks on the other hand were an instant hit! Also known as the bio-cellulose miracle for my eyes, these beauties make a world of difference when I use them. Keeping them on can be a bit tricky, but when I do, 15 hours of sleep and a great concealer ain’t got nothing on me! A little touch up of the Avène Couvrance Mosaic Powder in Natural Glow, and I am ready to head out! Soft and subdued, like my beloved Guerlain but with a touch more coverage!

If there’s anything you’d like to read more on, let me know in the comments!
