Lippie Friday

Friday Lipday! I’m all in! What better way to start that final countdown to the weekend or liven up that final day at work than a bright lippie, and I am more than happy to oblige. Two days ago we celebrated International’s Women’s Day, and both this year’s motto “Be Bold For Change” as this article by Sali Hughes inspired me to break out my favourite reds again.

” Red lipstick is a kiss to womankind” – Sali Hughes

First up, and my utter favourite by a landslide: the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Dragon Girl. It’s praises have been sung by countles beauty afficionada’s, and there really is no other like it. Vibrant and intensely pigmented with the most beautiful perfect deep red, this stunner offers that perfect balance between grace, elegance, strength and attitude!

Up next, and gracing my lips today is the MAC Viva Glam I. A slightly darker blue-ish red. A touch darker than Ruby Woo, but texture-wise the same, and holding power is also equal. I find that I need to touch it up every hour or so, but then again I am one of those people that just can’t stop touching their lips…

My love for Sisley has been extensively documented on this blog, and the Sisley Phyto Lip Twist Matte in 18 Tango is no exception! Bright and bold, this pure poppy red is neither orange based or blue hued, red as red should be!

New to the party is the Lipstick Queen Velvet Rope Lipstick n Private Party. This berry pink hued red is the first lipstick from Lipstick Queen in my collection, and it really is fit for a queen. True Hollywood thanks to it’s luxury casing (just look at it!) and deepened red pink shade, this beauty not only is the most luxurious of the four, it also has the longest staying power. Win – win!

  1. Yay for International Women’s Day, for Sali, for red lips and for this article!
