Just when I thought the alphabet cream rage was over, and I had found my personal favorites, another one comes popping up. Givenchy and Filorga still rule the roost, but the Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler CC Cream Light managed to tickle my interest.
French pharmacy brands are a firm favourite of just about anyone even remotely interested in beauty, and with France being a neighbouring country to dear old Belgium, I grew up with the likes of Avène, La Roche Posay and Eucerin. The Eucerin AtoControl Bath & Shower Oil keeps finding it’s way to our bathroom winter after winter ever since I was a little girl, and now the brand is tipping it’s toes in the CC cream waters. More a fusion of make up and skincare than most other BB, CC and DD Creams, the Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler CC Cream Light marries that splash of moisture and coverage with what I want most fom my skincare at the moment, a first dose of anti ageing! Gotta keeps those wrinkles at bay! Yes sweeties, this sounds like my kind of cream! Eucerin had me at ‘hyaluron’!
But how does it work? High and low Hyaluronic Acid tackle the origin of wrinkles and re-plump the skin, while bio-active Glycine Saponin boosts our own skin’s production of that same wrinkle-plumping Hyaluronic Acid. The addition of a SPF 15 + UVA protection is a sweet extra, but if you’re anything like me, you’ll prefer a separate SPF50. Application is incredibly easy, and that’s actually when the fun starts! Considerably less thick and creamy than my Givenchy Beauty Balm, the Eucerin is light and airy to the touch, and is incredibly easy to smooth over my face. Hyaluron usually also means moisture, and the Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler CC Cream Light does not disappoint in that aspect! Moisture a-plenty! Colour-wise; at first, it looks terribly pale, and it doens’t match my skin tone at all, but over the next minute or so, the light colour pigments start doing it’s thing by evening out all the little areas that aren’t silky smooth or peachy perfect. The light to medium coverage is more than enough for those normal to good skin days, when it gives me that “my skin but far better” look I love so much (Gisele, eat your heart out!). On a bad skin day, who doesn’t have those, it functions as a primer as well. I just finish it off with a light touch of foundation on my cheeks, and off I go!
You guessed it, I made room in my collection for this CC cream, and while Givenchy still holds my heart, this one is knocking at it’s door as well!
Available via Farmaline and other pharmacies
