Celebrating 10 years of ZulupaPUWA

Today JBC celebrated the 10 year anniversary of their collaboration with Walter Van Beirendonck on the ZulupaPUWA collections, and  boy, did they celebrate it with a bang! It is now nearing 11 pm as I write this, and I actually had another article planned to go online, but the fun of the celebrations, the excitement of the new collection and the afterglow of the entire day makes it too hard to resist.

It’s already been 10 years since JBC sent a shockwave through children’s clothing collections all throughout Belgium by announcing their collaboration with the Belgian enfant terrible of fashion, Walter Van Beirendonck, and ZulupaPUWA was born. A collection centered around Zulu, a gentle, colourful and whimsical litte alien helping kids day in day out, one happy step at a time. A decade later, Zulu and his friends are still going strong, and today, the latest ZulupaPUWA Autumn/Winter line was presented against the pefect backdrop, the animal kingdom of Planckendael.

Bright colours, remarkable prints and animals are again the cornerstone of this A/W 15 offering, all with the soft touch of Snowhite for the little girls amongst us, and the fiery call of the wildlife for the boys out there! Even Mummy is not forgotten this season, with the capsule inner collection of a swingy, pleated skirt and sweater. Happy Birthday Zulu, JBC and Walter Van Beirendonck, here’s to at least 10 more!
