Caudalie – Reigniting our love

About a year ago, smack bam in the middle of a raging love affair with Caudalie, I started testing the Caudalie Polyphenol C15 range*. Life at home with newborn and a toddler and more sleepless nights than should be allowed left me looking like my mum (sorry mum!), and let’s be honest, I’m not 21 anymore, so whatever anti-ageing and general boosting miracle you would have thrown at me, I would have caught with open arms!

“Primary function of the line is to act as a super antioxidant, ie being a fierce protector against free radicals and a mighty oxidant booster, imperative to keep wrinkles at bay or under control.  Key ingrediënts for this powerplay are the grapeseed polyphenols, ie powerful molecules Caudalie extracts from their own grapes, and has been proven to be 10.000 times more effective than regular Vitamine E. Additionally, these polyphenols have been coupled with stabilised Vitamin C, so that the youth-preserving and protecting capacities of both ingredients are even intensified.”

As you could read in my first write up (head on over for my complete low down on each product!), I really liked the line, but somehow I did not repurchase the products. Even worse, I somehow stopped using Caudalie all together. To many other things to use, too many new things to test, you know what I lean. Like two old friends slowly but surely losing touch. Out of sight, out of mind.

Then, a few weeks ago, the products of the Polyphenol range found their way back to me. One year later, pregnancy hormones gone completely (I dare Mr B to say differently 🙂 and after having tested several other lines (and having failed miserable with some ), my skin has changed slightly. I’m in a far better place moisture-wise, but anti-ageing / looking not a day over 21? Well, let’s just say there’s still work to on that front! First up, the Polyphenol C15 Anti-Wrinkle Defense Serum* . Still offering all the p’s I need! Protection, plumping and prevention! This serum and my skin are still best of buds! The combination of polyphenols, hyaluronic acid and olive squalane is a mighty one, and hard to beat! Welcome back to my routine! I cannot say a bad word about the Polyphenol C15 Anti Wrinkle Eye and Lip Cream* , but it remains a close second to my Verso Super Eye Serum. A great eye cream choice, as effective as many of the high end ones out there, for a fraction of the cost! The Polyphenol C15 Broad Spectrum SPF 20 Anti-wrinkle Protect Fluid * however is where the difference lies between today and a year ago. Somehow, my after pregnancy, raging diva of a tired, hormonal skin took to this cream far better than my current, happy and calmed down version. It is not a bad cream per se, it just isn’t enough for me at the moment. Without serum and oil, it leaves my skin feeling itchy and clingy, like an SPF with added powers, but without the moisurizing superhero part. What a year can do…

All in all, the serum gets an A+,  the eyecream and A- and the fluid a C+. Now, I would have been happy with such a scorecard when I was younger…
