We all have our favourites. you know, those products that get used far more than any other, the ones you just can’t do without, the ones that are that failsafe option for those moments you’re in a rush, feeling insecureor plainly uninspired. Despite the overflow of make up in my bathroom drawers (I’ve got enough colours to paint rainbows till the end of times), these are the beloved, the ones I’ll never be able to do without. Repurchase guaranteed!
Clinique Redness Solutions Daily Protective Base: My primer numero uno! Not necessarily intended as a primer by the hotshots at Clinique, but this fluid keeps my redness at bay whilst at the same time making my make up last longer than a snow cone on the North Pole. Double win!
Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara and Bobbi Brown Corrector in Bisque: At any given time, you’ll find 3 or 4 mascara’s in my make up bag, but this one takes the cake. Intense ink-black colour, va-va-voom volume and the perfect curl make my eyes look like a Sixties Twiggy campaign! Discolourations, bags, or any other trick my eyes play on me after a bad night, bad day or just that time of the month, there’s nothing this little black pot can’t magically erase away.
Eyeko Liquid Skinny Eyeliner: If it’s good enough for Alexa Chung, it’s good enough for a cack-handed eyeliner fool like myself. With a skinny felt tip and a liquid that almost tattoos itself on your lids, I completely understand why this British goodie has reached cult status across the Channel.
Burberry Rosewood and NARS Ashes to Ashes: The taupes that hit the spot! Nothing gets me more excited and ready to whip out my credit card than a taupe eyeshadow, and though I have collected my fair share of options, nothing comes closer to the perfect taupe than these two beauties.
Korres Volcanic Minerals Twist Eyeshadow in Golden Bronze: A creamy, luscious bronze that looks like a deep golden hue or a burnishes bronze depending on how the light hits it. Easy application and still there 12 hours later, this eyeshadow stick puts most others to shame.
Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Nude-Ist and Shine Edition Lipstick in 123 Soleil: After becoming somewhat of a lipstick addict, my collection quickly expanded, but these two just keep gracing my lips the most. Equally office proof as the perfect complement to a smokey eye, there is not an occassion for which I cannot use these.
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla: The best friend to that Bobbi Brown Corrector. A light dab of this lights up whatever needs a litle touch, hides whats needs to be hidden and subtly corrects what needs a little help. Magic in a small tube!
I would love to try the Clinique Redness Solutions Daily Protective Base!
I actually have that base, and use at as a primer. It is really good against redness on the cheeks, it evens it out and hides red patches or flushed cheeks. It does leave a green residue and is a bit drying so you have to finish it with a foundation or a medium coverage cream.
Thanks for the great advice! I do suffer from redness on my cheeks so I will have to try this one also because Clinique products are just my favorites!
Hahahah I knew you would say that! You were the one who raved about it, after all!
Whoop whoop, thumbs up for Bobbi’s Smokey Eye Mascara!
