Sisley Phyto Teint Expert

p10700931

Summer seems like a distant memory, and that last trace of that radiant summer glow seems to have vanished into thin air. Time to bust out the bases again, and this time that tinted moisturizer just won’t do. Here at the LeenLovesStyle HQ, we’ve been testing several new foundations, and the first one up is the Sisley Phyto Teint Expert All-Day Long Skincare Foundation in Sand*. Quite a mouthful, true, but when a formula promises to be an all-day long flawless skincare foundation that will hydrate, unify, smooth, mattify and correct your skin tone to get that much desired second skin effect thanks to it’s light to medium coverage.

I read somewhere that they called this healthy skin in a bottle, and that is a spot-on description of this foundation. All Sisley skincare have additional skincare boosting properties thanks to their botanical formulation, and this one is no different. Before it even starts hiding and concealing , the cucumber extract, Ginko leave extract, frangipani extract and vitamin E are already hard at work softening, smoothing out and hydrating your skin. After the skincare prep part is over, this foundation kicks it up a notch, as it gives me that soft focus, dewy skin that hides the redness in my cheeks without giving me that dreaded mask-face.

As coverage is light to medium, I like to build it up a little where needed, and the very liquid consistency allows me to do just that, without feeling heavy. Application is equally easy, I’ve applied it with my fingers, with my Real Techniques Stippling and Buffing brushes and with my pointed foundation brush, and each one proved to be a good match. Longevity wise, when combined with my Laura Mercier Hydrating Primer or Clinique Superprimer, this keeps a good 8 hours on my terribly dry skin, which is quite the feat. No dry patches, no oxidation, no drying effect but soft dewy skin, sounds like HG material! True, if not for this one little thing… It’s expensive! At € 95 for a 30 ml bottle, this is not something you purchase on a whim. Even when the luxurious glass bottle is a beauty…
