The promise of the discovery of a new skincare brand combined with the exploration of a new beauty haven lured me to Ghent last weekend, and whilst it had been a while since my last visit to this fair city, it was a long overdue one. I’ll tell you more about the skincare in tomorrow’s post (I can already tell you it’s a good ‘un, once more the Scandinavian prove that less is more),
Equally impressive, if not more, was the beauty hotspot where the presentation was held. Proving that Antwerp and Brussels is not the only Belgian cities, Fin Du Jour is firmly placing Ghent on the map as the place to be for exclusive, hard to find, luxurious, quality beauty brands. This beauty trove is lovingly owned and curated by Miriam Rouw, beautiful inside and out, who after a career in law, decided to pursue her dreams and open her own boutique. Besides selecting those unique brands, she did a beautiful job in decoration the job, choosing a calmng, white colour scheme that lets the products speak for themselves. That apothecary chest of drawers presenting the Cire Trudon candles is absolutely stunning!
Amongst the treasures she offers you can find hair care from Rahua and David Mallett, skincare from Verso, Aesop and Dr Perricone and fragrances from Escentric Molecules (that alone excited me beyond what should be allowed), Heeley and Robert Piquet, make up from Ellis Faas and Lipstick Queen and nail polishes from Uslu airlines makes that this is a true cosmetics heaven, and therefore a direct threat to my savings fund. I may or may not have left with a little skincare purchase…
If you’re in Ghent, please do pay this little gem a visit. If Ghent is a bit too far, hop on over to her webshop, no need to leave the house to splurge on all of her fabulous brands. Even better? If you live in Ghent, your order will be delivered the same day by a bike messenger!
