Every fashion magazine, stylist and fashion afficionado has said it time and time again, you just can’t go wrong with a fashion uniform. Sure, it is fun to think out new combinations, try a new trend or change your style depending on your mood or the occasion, but having that fallback outfit can often prove to be a lifesaver. When you’ve found that one style that makes you feel like you can conquer the world, you just can’t go wrong. It’ll make dressing easy peasy when you’re short on time, it’ll take you from day to night on those long days and it’ll make you look fashionable when you’re feeling anything but.

Mine has long been the following: a great fitting dark blue denim skinny, a silk blouse and a tailored blazer. The same as with so many other ladies, I know, but there is a reason why this type of outfit just works. Work or casual, day or night, brunch with friends or a date night, the outfit has this chameleon-like quality that makes it the perfect fit for every situation. But it needn’t always be a complete outfit , one single piece in your closet can be the starting point of so many great outfits, it can literally be the foundation of your wardrobe. And if ever there was a classic that is crucial to every wardrobe, it would be that elusive, can’t do without perfect t-shirt. It might take some searching and researching, but once you’ve found that perfect tee, whatever blend or fit you like, it’ll be the corner stone of your outfits.

The perfect complement to that tuxedo blazer, with a statement necklace to finish it off? Paired with that summery denim cut off? Or the ideal pairing with that leather skirt? A light tee is the ultimate blank canvas…
