My love for Caudalie has been well documented on this blog. A well thought out brand with highly active ingredients, great products and active supporters of natural skincare, “cosm’ethics” as Mathilde Thomas loves to call it. In 2012, the brand became a 1% for the planet member, using 1% of their worldwide turnover to implement and support environmental projects.
One of their most popular products, if not the brand’s bestseller, is the iconic Caudalie Beauty Elixir, and it’s getting a high-fashion makeover courtesy of L’Wren Scott. Since it’s launch in 1996, this bottle of goodness has sold over 2 million times, and now, to celebrate her love for this product, the fashion designer has created a bespoke design for a limited edition of 50.000 bottles. Based on her 2013 Fall/Winter collection, inspired by artist Gustav Klimt, the feminine drawing on the bottle reminds me of the curves of the female shape, whilst at the same time evoking images of sprawling vines.
The Beauty Elixir Spray is branded as a skin-care product, with ingredients such as rosemary leaf oil, peppermint oil, myrrh, lemon balm, peppermint, orange blossom, rose and grape pulp. Mostly advertised as a toner to tighten pores and diffuse fine lines, this multi-function spray does contain alcohol (and it’s high up on the ingredients list, so do beware), and therefore I chose to not use it as part of my skincare routine, but more as a little something to get me going through the day. A spritz or two after my lunch break perks me right up, gives my skin a little energy boost. I also use it to set my make up if I’ve used foundation and powder, as it makes the whole more natural-looking. The scent is more outspoken than some might expect, but I find it calming and soothing, meaning that I’ll sometimes spray it on when feeling stressed out…
As said, this is a limited edition of 50.000 bottles to be distributed worldwide, so if you love this product or L’Wren Scott’s designs, you might want to act quickly…
Caudalie Beauty Elixir by L’Wren Scott 30ml: 12 euros / 100ml: 35 euros
Ik vind het product en de verpakking op zich geweldig. Maar ik kan gewoon niet wennen aan de geur…helaas!
